What is the basic difference between Latches and Flip flops?

Latches are trasaparent to the inputs.
Flipflops are not transparent to inputs i.e flipflops are
synchronize w.r.t to control signal which is
normaly "clock" signal.
Normaly "Edge triggered FF" are used to eliminate the "Race
around condition " in FFs,so generaly FFs are defined
as "edge sensitive"
