how ranges is decided for drum level or dearator level,in
my pplant i have seen for boiler drum range is -1000 to
1000mmwc, while for dearator -2000 to 0 mmwc ,why they
decided to take this range ?

to maintain your sp as per load control,for anti cavitation
in your system it will always monitor true value
