what is the difference between noise and distortion?

Noise may bge defned as the external signal which is
unwanted to the original communication, it may be of any
type.
Where as distortion is a problem associated with basic
message signal because of the addition of the noise. That
problem may be variations in the amplitude, phase or
frequency etc...
