Why DC current is not used in transformer?

Transformer is working based on the principals of
Electromagnetic induction when A/c supply applied in the
primary wdg which induces EMF in the Secondary wdg.
While applying DC supply in the primary wdg, it will burnt
if it is Step up transformer, because it acts as Series
motor and it takes high current. and there is no back EMF
induced in the Tr sec. wdg.

A 3-PHASE TRANSFORMER IS USED TO STEP-DOWN THE VOLTAGE OF A 3-PHASE, 11KV FEEDER LINE. PER-PHASE TURNS RATIO IS 12.FOR A PRIMARY LINE CURRENT OF 20A, CALCULATE THE SECOUNDRY LINE VOLTAGE, LINE CURRENT AND OUTPUT KVA FOR FOLLOWING.A)STAR- DELTA.B)DELTA-DELTA.
Please help me regarding my one concern. - During earth pit testing we noticed that the Clean earth pit and dirty earth pit showing continuity (Resistance value - 5ohm) . I want to know that if both earth pit have separate location and there is not internal looping between PIT then why such continuity is showing on it . Because of this issue the field side all earthing point showing short. In PLC panel we are providing two types of earthing cable which is coming from separate earth pit (Clean and Dirty earth pit) because of earth PIT showing short our PLC is not complying spec . please help regarding this issues.
