Basically there are 2 types of reviews.
1>Informal Review :these reviews are not based on any
documented procedures.Author is the leader/presenter of
Informal review and other participants are reviewers.
E.g. Peer review,Walkthrough.
2>Formal Review :Formal reviews are based on documented
procedures.A trained person other than author is leader of
formal review.There is assigned moderator who interacts
with people.Remaining participants are
reviewers.Preparation is required for formal review.
Following are the steps followed in formal review.
1>planning
2>kick off
3>preparation
4>review meeting
5>rework
6>follow up.
