why either no or minimum shear reinforcement is provided in
case of slabs?
Answer Posted / arun murugesan
When τc’ > τv no shear reinforcement is required
if τv > τc’ the shear reinforcement is required.(or)
Ast value is less than the minimum shear reinforcement
value then we should provide minimum shear reinforcement ie
0.12 % of bD. Shear reinforcements are used to resist the
shear cracks by means of increasing the Asv value.
