Transformer has two windings primary & Secondary.
When AC supply is applied across primary, due to the
changing current flux will be produced & due to incuction
EMF will be induced in Secondary also.
Whereas in case of DC there is no change in current & no
induced EMF so the Transformer windings will get burnt

I don't understand why when we connect high voltage source in DC to electronic motor , we must add capacitor and resistor in parallel ?
