The live conductor provided with a panel /switch
boards /ower distribution boards/ bus bucts & rising
mains are known as Bus bars.
Normally these are made up of Cu or Aluminium.They are
solid materaial normally in a rectange ed flat size of
different dimension based on the amount of current it has
to carry.
Why it is called as bus bars it is a question.
Bus is a one which transports men and material from one
place to other. Now that these bar transport power from
one place to other they may be named so.
some had aid in olden days the buses and trams which
transport people had a a continious holder at the celing
leval of the bus for men to hold were made up of Alu or Cu
bars , which were looking like thse bus bars.

I have a small system with two motors that are running on 380 vac, 60 hz. These motors are expensive and I usally get them from Brazil. I am adding another motor to the system, but I want to purchase a 480 vac, 60 hz motor to use. It will be on a VFD that is rated fro 380 thru 480. Is this posible and will I have to use a larger motor and derate it?
