Clearly Define Active,Reactive,Apparant power.Which
applications used which power above metioned power?

Answer Posted / hareesh k soman

Apparent Power, Real power & Reactive power

For example if we give i/p to a electrical equipment in
product of voltage n current (VxI)that is apparent power
(KVA)i.e that device seems to be work in that power but
unless that device is pure resistive its consumed power will
depend upon the power factor i.e its actual consumption will
not be equal to what we had given as i/p power due to
inductive/capacitive load.
so its actual consumption is said to be Real/Actual power
thats why we multiply cos phi to VI (KW).
If its a pure resistive load apparent power n real power
will be equal .that means unity power factor(p/f=Real
Power/Apparent Power).
power generated due to inductive/capacitive load is called
Reactive power.
If Power factor is not unity there will be flow of reactive
power. this will results high loss .i.e this will flow
reverse to generating station there by transmission cable
wont be capable of carrying this extra power, so conductor
will break n cu loss will increase.........
