why electric shock due to dc is dangerous than that of ac
Answer Posted / rod pohl
AC is the most dangerous due to the frequency, at 50-60 Hz
you can not let go of the source, DC which is zero
frequency does not grab you and you can let go, Of course
every thing has to have voltage and current, With AC say
240 volt a current of 60mA can cause filiberation of the
heart but with DC it would take 300-500mA for the same
effect. In Australia 40 volt AC is considered extra low
voltage but 120 volt DC is the level for extra low voltage.
It is concerning that so few people have an understanding
of this subject, all electricity as dangerous and should be
treated with respect.
