What is the basic difference between P/E ratio and EPS??

P/E ratio is price earning ratio, which shows the valuation
ratio of firms current market price of share to earning by
each share; i.e. CMP/EPS
whereas EPS is earning per share;
i.e. profit after tax/no. of shares outstanding
