Is stepname is a MUST and should be unique also for each
JOBSTEP ? or system can supply the stepname for a step which
is not given a name by the programmer ?

Answer

step name is not unique.we can take same stepname to
multiple jobs but at the time of debugging point of view
application prog is very easy while giving different
stepnames.


jcl execution is line by line,once it executed it wont mind
the what is the previous job.

what is the Difference between SYSIN and PARM ?

there are two ways to send data to the application prog.
1)parm (for small amount of data)
2)sysin(for large amount of data)

1)parm: is used to send the data to application prog
(eg;.cobol)

upto 100 characters.

2)sysin:is used to send the data to application prog
(eg;.cobol)

large amounts.
