To merge columns, select the columns you want to merge, go to the 'Table Design' tab, click on 'Merge Cells', then choose whether to Merge Cells or Merge Cells (Contents Only). To merge rows, select the rows you want to merge, right-click and select 'Format Cells', go to 'Alignment' in the sidebar, under 'Vertical alignment', choose 'Merge cells'.
