To index a book in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:n
1. Press ALT + SHIFT + I to open the Index and Tables dialog box.
2. In the Index and Tables dialog box, click on Modify.
3. In the Modify dialog box, type the keyword you want to index in the Index entry field.
4. Select the location of the keyword in your document by moving the cursor to it and clicking Mark All.
5. Click on the Options button and make sure that On Page Number is checked if you want the page numbers to appear in the index.
6. Click OK to close the Modify dialog box.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for all keywords you want to index.
8. Go back to the Index and Tables dialog box, click on New,
9. Type a title for your index in the Title field.n10. Click OK to create the index.
