To combine text and formulas in Excel, use the ampersand (&) to concatenate multiple strings. For example: =A1 & " -" & B1 will combine the values from cells A1 and B1 with a hyphen between them.

While entering a series of numbers I was manually entering a comma. Excel auto-formatted the field to accommodate the comma like 1,200. I erroneously entered12,00.
