YARN (Yet Another Resource Negotiator) is a resource management system in Hadoop. Spark can run on YARN, allowing it to leverage the resources managed by YARN for its computations. When running on YARN, Spark uses a container manager like YARN's ApplicationMaster to manage and allocate resources.
