Big Data refers to extremely large data sets that may be analyzed computationally to reveal patterns, trends, and associations, especially relating to human behavior and interactions. Big Data is characterized by the 3Vs: Volume (large amounts of data), Variety (data in a multitude of formats), and Velocity (speed at which new data is generated).
