To upgrade Apache ZooKeeper, you should first backup your data and snapshot, then stop the old cluster, install the new version, configure it with the same properties as the old one, start the new ensemble, check if the new cluster is running fine, and finally switch DNS records or client configurations to point to the new ensemble.
