HBase uses ZooKeeper for service discovery, configuration, and coordination. It relies on ZooKeeper to maintain a consistent view of the HBase cluster by tracking the Master server, Region servers, and other services. The Master server registers with ZooKeeper, allowing other components to find it and learn about the available Region servers.
