What will happen in case you have not issued the command?..

Answer / Arvind Kumar Tiwari

"If a command is not issued, nothing specific will happen for most of the Hive commands. However, when running a Hive query, if no command is given, it will default to displaying the results of the last executed query. If no Hive session has been started or there are no previous queries, you'll get an empty result.".
