What is the difference between hbase and hdfs?
Answer / Devendra Katarya
Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is a distributed storage system designed for storing large files. HBase, built on top of HDFS, provides a distributed database layer that enables real-time read/write access to the data stored in HDFS. While HDFS stores files with no native support for tables or indexes, HBase provides these features.
