When can we use Joins vs. Blending in Tableau?

When can we use Joins vs. Blending in Tableau?..

Answer / Rajnish Kumar

Joins are used when the data sources to be combined have a common key field, and the relationship between them is one-to-one or one-to-many. This means that every record in one table should correspond to at most one record in another table. Blending on the other hand, is used when the data sources do not have a common key field, or when there are many-to-many relationships between them. Blending creates virtual connections between tables based on matching values in specified columns.
