Distinguish HDFS Block and Input Unit?
Answer / Rakhi Sharma
An HDFS Block is the smallest unit of data that can be written to and read from the file system. It has a fixed size (default 128 MB). An Input Unit, on the other hand, is the smallest amount of data that the MapReduce framework will process at once. The Input Unit size is configurable, but it must be a multiple of the block size.
