What is Non-Linear Filters?
Answer / Ankur Verma
Non-linear filters in image processing are techniques that perform operations on an image's pixel values using a non-linear function. Unlike linear filters, these filters don't follow the principle of superposition (the result of two images combined with another linear filter is equal to the filtered images combined and then added). Non-linear filters can better handle discontinuities such as edges in an image.
