Newtonian fluid is a type of fluid that follows Newton's law of viscosity, which states that the shear stress between two layers of the fluid is directly proportional to the velocity gradient between them. This type of fluid exhibits a linear relationship between shear stress and strain rate. Newtonian fluids are found in everyday life, such as water and air, and are used extensively in various engineering applications, including automobiles (e.g., lubrication systems), heating and cooling systems, and aerodynamics.
