Can any body help me out by telling hoe swelling pressure test of soil is carried out ? some body told me the procedure & formula (change in length /116.3*100%) but still i am confused ? pls help.

The swell pressure test, also known as the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test, helps determine the load-bearing capacity of soils. The procedure involves creating cylindrical specimens from the soil and subjecting them to a standard load for a specific duration. The deformation of the specimen is then measured, and the swell pressure is calculated using the formula: Swell Pressure = (Change in length / Original Length) x 116.3 x CBR Factor. The CBR Factor depends on the type of soil and can be found in CBR tables.
