In ADO.NET Two types of Architectures are there one is connection oriented another one is disconnected architecture.
DataReader,DataSet Both are frontend objects to querying on Datasource,both objects operation is similar but small difference is there

DataReader used in Connection oriented and it stores one table at a time ,it reads data from datasourse forward direction only,it can't work for backward read and one more thing is Datareder is readonly.

Dataset used in disconnected oriented and it stores more than one table,it read/write date from database both forward and backward directions.

Common UI for Multiple web applications.
