Severiety- Is of a bug is defined by the Testing team. they
tell the developer team how is sever is the bug for the
application.
Priority : It is defined by the developer lead , They define
how much priority the developer team should give to the bug
whether it should be fixed first or ....

Severiety means-- The seriousness of the bug with reference
to the Functionality.
Priority means--The importance of the bug with reference to
the Customer/Client..

based on the show stopper functionality report we can
report the bug with high severity as if the client wants to
have the feature as imp then we can define with high priority

Hi,
severity is the complexity of the bug. There are 4 types
of bug 1. Low level bug which means cosmetic bugs like
spelling mistakes.
2. Medium level bugs - which effect the functionality of the
more than one requirements.
3. High level bugs - which effects the functionality of the
more the 5 requirements.
4. Critical bug - show stopper, until we fix it we can't
proceed for the further testing.
Priority is decided by the developers depending on the
severity of the bug. Priority is given by the criticality of
the bug.
