Test Bed is an execution environment configured for 
software testing. It includes software, hardware, network 
topologies, operating systems, configuration, system 
software and other applications. Test Plan is made using 
test bed specification.

As per Telecom industry instead of testing software through
system we have to test through mobile. So that we can
prevent the errors at testing stage itself.

Requirment- creation of new project
test plan - save the test scripts
test lab -  create the test set for execution
defect - logging defect detail

Snap shot is the proof of the defect, by seeing that 
snapshot developer get to know the exact error details.

Test Lab -> Select Tests -> 'Run' -> 'Exec Steps'.
Execute the steps manually and assign the status as 'Pass' 
or 'Fail'.

Yes, we can write TCs in 'Test Plan' tab in Test Director. 
Test Plan -> Create 'Subject'/'Sub Subject' -> select it -> 
click 'New Test' -> specify 'Manual'/'Automation' -> go 
to 'Design Steps'/'test Script' tab.

QC AND TD are same.TD was renamed as QC in 2002.

test managment is not include in td ,its avaliable in qc 
alonge with th bug traking.

we will map Tcs with Req.s in 'Test Plan' tab.
After defining Design Steps & Details..... we have 'Reqs 
Coverage' tab to map the TC with the Req.

Which Tool you are using for logging the defects ?

some tools may not have that option, however some tools are 
having but we need to subscribe for that.

Go to customaiztion Tab in the there is a set mail option 
click on that and assign the rules accordingly to set up 
the auto generated mails

In the word document go to Macros and in the tools 
refrences add the TDOLE connection DLL which connects to 
the QC Server directly and then you can write the custom 
Macros

Based on my 2 years of experience as QC Admin, we set auto
configure email  Status to : "Open" or "Reopen" or "Closed"
and Assigned to field ".." .And when a new defect is in
"Open" status an email would be generated to the developer

Can we specifically select a particular person in the Assigned to field or only a group can be selected?

Whenever a new defect is logged,a report gets open to fill
the require details about the bug,like-release
name.Seviority,Priority,Status,Assigned to (We can select
required Dev id from the drop down list here) and need to
clcik on email icon,by this email will be automaticallt go
to the assigned developer.

Hi,

You can run a test case in two ways.

1. Just go to test case -> click on "Test Script" tab of the
test case ->Click on QTP icon -> QTP will open -> Just click
on Run.

2. Create a testset and assign the test case to that
testset. Now run the case in testset. It creates a separate
instance of the test, so you can view all the logs of the
earlier test run.
