Hey, I had an interview with Accenture on 24th May 2008. I 
had cleared all the levels(Initial HR Round + Technical + 
2nd HR Round + Final Process HR) and was asked to submit my 
documents. I was told that I would be given an offer letter 
after screening of the documents. Today it is Jun 4th 2008 
and I have not received any mail or offer confirmation from 
these guys. What do you think where do I stand? Have they 
rejected me due to some reasons or the procedure takes some 
time. Please tell me soon.

1) inferential vocabulary round has a passage with blanks and 4 options to 
fill each blank.
It had 20 blanks and 22 minutes for that section.

2)The Logical and Aptitude section has 45 questions for 48 minutes.

It had number of problems on sets .

people studying maths 20,people studying english 30.studying both some 
number,Find total like that.

Around 12 questions were like that.

Out of 1411 students, 98 were shortlisted for the HR&Technical interview.

These convergys people have less requirement, that is why they have 
revised our cut-off, initially they kept some cut-off, then 300 students 
were there. So they again revised and took 98 students.

All this revision of cut-off took place off-screen.

No negative marking. 
They will count Correct Answers, Wrong Answers and take %(percentage), As 
your Written test score.

So guys/gals you have to really be sound and get through the written test 
in-order to get into Convergys.

Bharat Electronics exam.this was my first and i cleared written but failed
in Interview..
Secondly i wrote National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC)and i
cleared written but failed in Interview
third i wrote TCS did not clear
 but still i believed that God will shower his blessings one day.mynights
went through cries.i became sleepless thinking of my future.
 i realized to search a temorary one .i got a job  as lecturer(ECE) in
CVRaman college of engg.,BHUBANESWAR,ORISSA forRS.11000/month.This helped
me a lot  to refresh my subjects.
 
next i wrote BSNL did not clear
next i Wrote IOCL did not clear
 then i wrote HPCL did not clear
 then Airports exam did not clear.
 
finally i lost my hope & i decided that i was not fit enoughto get through

Me: explained the def of dbms and expalined the various dbms products in 
the market.

Int: what is 'Index' in DBMS?  
Me: I did n't  answer this question.

Int: what is a key and its types?
Me: explained  primary key, foreign key, super key with examples.
There is a long discussion on the concept of foreign key. He asked me to 
explain it with examples. I've taken two tables 'Emp' and 'Dept' tables 
and explained neatly.

Managerial Round of Interview: (On 21st November 2006)
    This interview was  also so cool for me. With the confidence I've 
gained from Tech round, I've attended this interview with coupled 
confidence.
Actually my interview was scheduled at 11:00 in the morning. But it became 
too late again. It started at around 4:00 in the evening. To my surprise, 
I was asked all HR questions in this round even though it is said to be 
Managerial Round. This interview also consisted of only one member. But 
many of the candidates who were appeared for the MR interview were been 
asked questions based on their academic project and/or technical questions 
only, in this round of interview. I was asked the following questions 
like....
Tell me about yourself, what are your areas of interest, positive and 
negative points in you, your achievements, About TCS, Why should we hire 
you etc (Some more questions, but all these are purely HR questions. Its 
duration was 20 minutes for me.)
    After it is over, they announced the results. I was through the MR 
also. Again they announced the HR interview schedule. For me it was 05:15 
in the evening on the same day. In this round also TCSers eliminated some 
candidates.

HR interview: 

I've had a stress kind of interview here. The interviewer seems to start 
argument with what ever I say. And I was asked even unexpected questions. 
This round consisted of Project related questions even though it is HR 
interview. 

   
Hr: Tell me about yourself?
Me: keep telling about my PG briefly and moved on saying my achievements, 
goals etc. 

Hr: why didn't you select campus of any university in the state?
Me: given the reasons. 

Hr:  he asked me the subjects of the previous sem than 3-2 i.e 3-1
Me: told some of the subjects. 


Hr: Can you tell me the subjects that you are having in your last semester 
(3-2) of MCA.
Me: told the subjects.

Hr: Do you have DBMS in your curriculum?
Me: yes, in our second year of MCA.

Hr: what are the concepts that you know from DBMS?
Me: written all the major concepts related to it on the paper.
Int: its ok.

Hr: Explain your project in detail.
Me: Explained the project clearly. 

Hr: Asked questions on on project design, especially on database design 
process  .
How many tables are there in your application? 
Me:   It consists of 18 tables totally.

Int: why that many number of tables? Why don't you maintain all the data 
in a single table? 

Me: told the problems with that approach.
Int: if so, why don't you create a separate table for each column?
Me: even then told the problems with this kind of approach also.
Int: again the same question, why that many tables?

Me: I've told about normalization and its types.
Int: can you explain where you have used all these different types of 
normal forms in your project?
Me: Actually all this process is carried out by our project member. I was 
not involved in this process. So I don't know about it.
Int: Again asked me the same question for the fourth consecutive time.
Me: Here i become irritated with that question again.

I've drawn the structure of the TCS building roughly, where our interviews 
are being conducted, and questioned him 'why you are maintaining all these 
departments in separate rooms why not a single big hall?'
Int:  Finally what do you want to become in TCS?
Me:  I want to become System Analyst within 3 to 4 years.
Int: will you become System Analyst immediately now?
Me: No No. Right now I came here for recruitment with TCS as a software 
programmer. But my goal for the next 3 to 4 years is to become System 
Analyst (SA).
Int:  Ok, can you tell the responsibilities of SA?
Me: As I'm a fresher, I don't know all the responsibilities of SA, but one 
of the  major responsibility is to analyze the system to be built and 
again analyzing the system after it is built to find whether it is meeting 
the client's requirements or not? Apart from this he may also involved in 
some more functions. But I'm unaware of them now.
Int: So, you want to become SA without knowing his responsibilities.
Me: I've nothing to say for this question and remained with blank face 
with this kind of his questions.
Int: So, it'll be difficult for you into TCS, anyway I wish you all the 
best.
Me: came out with complete dissatisfaction.

I was asked MR questions in HR interview and all HR questions in MR 
interview.

Everybody says that the interview will be cool. But some times  we may 
come across this kind of stress interviews. With this experience I'm not 
confident of being selected for TCS. Still the results are awaited. 

So friends don't be panic of interviews. It'll be very cool as everybody 
says. Very very rarely only we may come across such type of panel members. 
Even there you should not loose control on yourself. Here I've committed a 
biggest mistake by questioning the interviewer. Also in TCS, you can't 
expect only tech questions in tech round of interview and only HR 
questions in HR interview. Anything can be asked depending on the panel 
member.

I would like to share my success and my experiences of getting into IBM.
 
I had my test on 22 July in Warangal.  written test in which there are  4 
sections are there.
 
English Section  mainly concentrates on  articles and prepositions .  CAT 
verbal material is goodbook. refer "practical english usage" by michael

for technical interview.so, the technical inerview is the main screening 
round for IBM.
 
In the Tech Interview for electronics,mechanical and other non it 
candidates are supposed to know basics of c and data structures.

In this they will ask to  write some basic pgms like swap, prime, 
pallindrome(using stack),some basic rules about pointers, and programs on 
different searching and sorting techniques. There shall be questions on 
your core subjects and your project which you have mentioned in your 
resume.

C&DS, dbms, sql queries, unix as mentioned in in resume.

they will entirely concentrate on the subjects specified in the resume.  
Do prepare some questions to ask the interviewer which would add your 
chances to get qualified. 
 
The next round which is HR was a bit tough one .

Here there shall be some Questions's on  core subjects. we have to make 
our  first impression in the first important question "tell me abt urself".

Try to give examples for your strengths which wud add a postive impression 
on you. hr round  also may be 20-30 min.

Hr asked me question on integration, difference between definite and 
indefinite integrals.

He asked me a question like how many bytes make a Kb .

some qustions on data structures,different sortings and searching 
techniques, deadlock . Then about my personal details. He asked me that 
what i learned from my father.
