Satyam Interview Questions

Iam selected in Satyam .
This is the Satyam pattern which I faced at Kala bharati, Visakhapatnam. I
am from St. Theressa Institute of engineering & Technology, Vijayanagaram.

Written Test: 15-questions.

1-mark for right answer, 1/4 minus for every wrong answer.

negative marking will be there, don't try to guess the answers.

Many question were very easy but try to confuse you.

Most of the questions were from "Quantitative Aptitude" by R.S AGGARWAL

Topics from which questions are asked are

1. series completion,
2. Data Interpetation
3. Compound interest
4. Trains & speed
5. work and Time
6. Averages
7. Clocks....Angle between hour hand and minutes hand .....
8. Volumes
9. Percentages
10. problem on Ages
11. Reasoning question

you can clear written if more than 6 correct

Satyam Interview Questions

I cleared Written. My GD topic "Rural development"

The main elimination round of the Satyam. My group contains 10 members. HR
asked us to suggest us the topic and 10 suggested 10 topics out of which
HR choose the topic and it was "Rural development" We were given two
minutes time to note down the points.

But one member started at that time only. Discussion was very nice. The
discussion went on for 10 - 15 minutes.

TIPS for GD:

1. If possible try to start first, if not no problem but try to speak
effectively.

2. fix to your attitude, it is if the opposite person argues strongly
don't leave your topic go towards others.

3. It's a discussion don't make it as Debate ,be cool. They test your
patience too when you are at heavy argument. Patience doesn't mean silence
but talk smoothly, try to convince your offenders. (Best way is say "yes"
and say your way is best one) .

4. Always have a smiling face .

5. conclude the discussion highlighting your strong points.

6.It is better to call your GD members with names rather than friends so
know their names. It helps u a lot.

7. Don't see the observer seating besides you.

8. Write the points which are discussed in the G.D .

Satyam Placement Papers | Satyam Interview Procedure |
Satyam Aptitude Questions | Satyam Technical Questions |
Satyam Interview Questions

9. wish all the members and introduce yourself and explain your points in
starting.

10. Your eye contact never be diverted from your team members and
especially speaking person.

11. speak louder .

12. Don't point out anyone with finger.

11. Use these phrases as many as u can......depend on the discussion
"Friends ...Let's us give equal opportunity to all"
        "I will say one point"

Take an advantage of shy person to share his views.... saying

"Friend! You can also share your views" its adds points to both of
them (if he/she speaks)

If any person telling his views without listening others or without giving
chance to others than use can stop him simple saying

** "please give chance to other people also"

As our discussion went well, as result 6 members selected in my group but
in some groups who created bad atmosphere ....only 1 or 2 selected .

Speak confidently and fluently.

follow the above TIPS you are surely clear your GD why because Gd is
major elimination round in Satyam be careful.

HP has 3 rounds

1.Preliminary -consists of 4 sections namely english,reasoning,aptitude
and comprehension.

English-just preliminary consisting of articles, jumbled up sentences,
antonyms & synonyms etc.

Reasoning round : this is the part which most students found to be the
tough eventhough half of the questions were very easy.

The ones which were tough are venn diagram puzzles, the type of problems
were one has to decide if the person is to be selected, rejected or
referred clock puzzles, cube(which part is painted etc).

Aptitude round : just prelimanaries involving time & distance, binary
numbers, clocks, simple but lenghy mathematical calculations.

Conprehension : Apassage from MIcroprocesor was given from which
conclusion was to be drawn. It was a tough one.

2. Technical Interview : Just simple questions involving C,C++,DBMS
(must),SQL, software engg,d.s.

3. HR : Lengthy (for me it was approximately 40 min) but quite cordial.

Just general questions like family background, hobbies from biodata, last
movie seen it's story, last book which you read and so on.

The major eliminating round was the preliminary section.

Answer
I got placed in Accenture from the campus held at vidyavihar on 27th nov.
There were around 500 students appeared for the aptitude test and 200 got
shortlisted.

Accenture Placement Papers | Accenture Interview Procedure |

| Accenture Interview Questions

Here's the pattern

1. APTITUDE TEST

There were 3 sections 1.verbal ability 2.aptitude(maths) 3.analytical
ability(puzzles).

The test was quiet easy. don't do just quantitative aptitude. brush up on
verbal and analytical also .

GD was ok. They see you speak something and speak confidently.

Our topic was 'Money in turn will give you academics and academics in turn
will give you a bright career.

Accenture Placement Papers | Accenture Interview Procedure |
Accenture Aptitude Questions | Accenture Technical Questions
| Accenture Interview Questions

HR In HR round they ask the usual questions but many were eliminated in
this round. so the key is to be confident and gather as much information
as possible about Accenture.

To some people some technical questions were also asked in HR and many got
nervous. I think they just wanted to see how u react. so don't be nervous
if they start asking you technical questions in HR.

4. Technical : It was also an elimination round. Some got eliminated in
this round but it depedns on the interviewer also. To some students very
tricky questions were asked. they asked mostly about your project and if
you start well then after that they ask you very simple questions.

They also ask about C, C++,Software engg(Testing). Try to score high in
Aptitude test. If your score is high and if you have cleared the GD then
by Technical Interview is just a formality. so All The Best to all of u!
May all of you get good placements.

Answer
L&T Infotech Placement Papers | L&T Infotech Interview Procedure |
L&T Infotech Aptitude Questions | L&T Infotech Technical Questions |
L&T Infotech Interview Questions

Iam Srinivas of Sri Venkateswara Engg. College, Chittoor.

I recently attended L&T infotech campus recruitment held at Sri
Vidyanekethan Engg. College, Tirupathi on 9th -10th of September
(2006) .

Eligibilities:

Should have consistently scored atleast 60% in 10th, intermediate
and
BTECH all sems.

Should not have any history of fails in any class or semester.

Process of Selection:

1) Written test on quantitative aptitude, reasoning and English
each section consists of 30 questions => total 90 questions in 90
minutes.
No negative marks 90 marks.

There is sectional cutoff so you need to score in all sections
properly
The sectional cutoff was around 14-16.

Note: there are 3 sets of papers almost same standard.

2) Technical interview may or may not have group discussion
3) HR interview

Written Test:

Aptitude:

1. In a kilometer race between A and B, A beats B by 9 seconds or 36
meter. Then what is the time taken by B to finish the race.

Sol: When A has just completed the race it means B is behind by
36mts or
completed 966mts. And when a has taken T seconds to complete the
race B
needs another 9 secs to complete the race; that means B runs
another 36mts
in 4sec so his speed is 36/9 = 4mts/sec

So travels 1000mts or 1km in 1000/(36/9)=250secs(time=dist/speed)
So A completes race in 250-9sec=241secs .

2. If 4apples and 6oranges cost 13/- and 2apples & 4oranges cost
7/- find
cost of one apple and one orange.

Sol: subtract 2nd eqn from 1st then we have 2a-2o=6 =>1apple and
1orange
cost 3/-

3. If a person travels for P km in t hrs and then increases his
speed by x
km/hr find his new speed.

a) (p/t)+x b) pt+x c)p/x+t d)pt/x ans:a

4,5,6 questons based on statistics from a bar graph.

7. If a kite is at a height of 50mts from ground and the angle of
inclination from a point on ground is 60degree then find length
of the
kite sting.

Sol: based on trigonometry heights and distances: sin60=height of
kite/length of string(altitude/hypotenuse) .

ans:100/(root of 3).

L&T Infotech Interview Questions

8. If avg. of 6 nos. is 8 and later 2 new nos. are added such
that the avg
of the present 8 nos is 6 then what is the avg of newly added
two nos.

Sol:

avg=total sum of values/ no of objects or observation
? 8 =total sum of values of 6 nos /6
? total sum of values of 6 nos=6*8=48
now when 2 new nos are added applying same formula 6= total sum
of values
of 8 nos/8
? total sum of values of 8 nos=48 so the value has not changed
which
means the sum of added 2 nos is zero so avg=zero/2=zero (ans)

9. What % of 4/7 is 4/5?

Sol: {(4/5)/(4/7)}*100= ans =140%

10. By what % should a person sell an article so as to gain a
profit of
24% even after giving a discount of 10 % ?

Sol)

the easiest way to solve such problems is by assuming the cost
price as
100rs
So to get a profit of 24% means to sell at 100+24=124/-
So suppose he sold it at 10% discount initially he sells
at 90rs
so ther is a difference of 34/-

11. One problem on Arithematic progression

12. One on mean

13. Matrix addition:
      If 1 2 3 1 1 1 0 1 2
            5 7 9 = 3 4 7 + 2 3 2
            2 3 4 1 1 1 1 2 ?
then what is the value of ?

ans: 4-1=3

14. Find the determinant of a 3*3 matrix?

15. A red light glows every 10sec, yellow every 15sec and red
every 18sec.
find the number of times all three glow together from 8:00AM to
9:00AM
(including both times)

Sol : LCM of 10,15,18 = 90
So every 90 seconds all three glow together so in one hour there
are 3600
secs
So 3600/90=40 times but answer is 41 because they glow at 0th
second that
is at 8 Am since both times are included.

16. If a man travels at 30km/hr is behind a car by 40mtrs. In
20sec if he
leads the car by 20mts then what is speed of car?

17. If age of a person is x and his mothers age is 34. then after
how many
years will the mothers age be twice of the son?

18. One more age problem

19. If a person takes 5 days and 8 hrs to dig a trench ; then
how many
persons will dig 3 trenches in 1 day (with each day of 8 hrs work)

20,21,22 questions based on arthematic calculation to check ur
speed in
calculating.

One question based on allegation and mixture go for error and
trial method

I don't remember other 7 questions

Verbal test:

30 questions

Meanings 3 questions:

Faux Pas : means a blunder (spelled as fau pa)
 Don't remember other two

Arranging sentences in order(3 or 4 questions)

Finding errors in a sentence(3 Qs)

Reading passage (5 questions ): easy to score atleast 4 marks out
of 5 by
reading questions and coming to passage to search answer also
less time
consuming

Also anologies

Reasoning

Based on venn diagram 3 questions

1) Which diagram best represents musician, violinist and
instrumentalist?

Ans: three concentric circles the outermost circle being
musician the
inner circle instrumentalist and the innermost being violinist.
Because every violinist a musician and instrumentalist but not the
viceversa.
Every instrumentalist is a musician but not the viceversa

2) polygon, quadrilateral and rhombus ?

Ans : the same as above answer rhombus is the innermost then the
quadrilateral and outside is the polygon .

Explaination: a polygon is a 3 or more close sided figure so even a
triangle and pentagon are polygons so is a quadrialateral which
is a 4
sided fig and quad includes rombus, square, rectangle, kite,
trapezium etc
Not able to remember other one

Three questions on seating arrangement .

3 questions based on giving 3 figures and then we are required to
find the
4th fig which comes next in the logical sequence.

Other questions are also not that tough.

define modulation and types of modulation ?
Types of antenna and where is antenna placed in an aeroplane?

What is the antenna used in home for doordarshan chaneel ans is
broad
side array antenna ?
Data bus size of 8086 &8085 microprocessors ?
Ram size of 8085&86 ?
My favourite subjects I was also asked tell me about urself ?

On C:

How to read a string ?
what aboutlinked list ?
Also a puzzle was given to me .

q) if ur given 6 balls of all equal color and identity and 5 are
equalweight find the unequal heavier ball. you are also given a
common
weighing balance ? find the minimum iterations required.

Ans:

first divide the balls into two grops of 3 each and weigh them
then we get
the heavier side .

Next take two from the heavier section and weigh them with one on
each
side if they are equal then the 3rd one is the heaviest.
So 2 iterations are enough.

HR:

Asked on hobbies if ur hobby is collecting stamps then remember
it is

Hi all do you know the pattern of Grapecity Placements ?

GrapeCity Interview Questions

The first round is an aptitude paper 30 questions in 30 minutes:

The paper consists questions divided into 4 classes namely A, B, C and D.

The D level questions are the simplest and will fetch you only one mark
while the A level questions are very lengthy and conceptual, however will
fetch you the maximum number of marks i.e four.

The D level questions are very very simple, as simple as look and answer.

example:

4 pictures are given and by looking at them you have to answer which one
is different from the rest of the 3.

Another simple question of this type is the one in which there is a pool
of figures such as pentagon, hexagon, rectangle and square and below this
pool value of each figure is written. you have to calculate the value of
the pool by counting the no of figures and replacing them with their
values.

The C level questions are from R.S Agarwal, simple questions based on
percentage, profit lose, time and work and number problems basically there
to check your ability to deal with quantitative problems.

The A and B level questions are based on Logical Reasoning where the Level
B questions are simpler than the level A questions. You need to solve
atleast 15 questions to seek your chances of getting to the next round.

2. The second round is an HR interview:

Its a general HR interview in which you can expect simple HR questions
based on your resume, some situational based questions like design a
mobile phone for deaf and dumb, some basic technical questions.

3. Third round is another HR/ Basic Technical Round:

You would be interview by a Japanese HR, they would judge your basic
technical skills, discuss ur projects. I felt if this round was just to
make sure that your profile matches the profile that you have been called
for.

4. Fourth Round/ Core Technical round:

This was a core technical round which revolved around all the technical
stuff that u could possibly dream of. you could be asked to design a
module and then implement it on the computer. They may also ask puzzles
to check how logically strong you are.

5. Fifth Round/ Technical + HR:

The last round here is the technical / HR round. Here in the HR was an old
japanese person who finally asks you any thing and everything of technical
and HR, they won't be satisfied if you can make the program but they would
be satisfied if you can make an optimized program. you don't have to be
the master of the trade but one with very very good logical skills. They
want you to do things quick and smart and that too in a compact manner. A
simple program of ( if else ) in C can also be written through ( ? : ),
use the latter option because it makes the size of the program small and
thats what they love.

Once you are through all the rounds you would be offered a package which
can smartly be negotiated.
