I am in 6th semester. I gave my online test for Tech Mahindra on 18th 
Feb'07 at OIST, Bhopal. 

There was no negative marking .

Time allotted was 60 mins for 75 questions (35 in all in the first 3 and 
40 in the last 2 sections). 

The questions were easy so the keypoint was "Time Factor". If one section 
once attempted, we were not allowed to go back to it.

The paper was divided into 5 sections:

1. Paragraph actually a sentence completion kind of a thing , for every 
blank we were given 4-5 choices and we had to select one from a drop down 
menu, they had correct form of the verb, tenses type of questions, that is 
basic grammar to be precise.

2. Multiple Choice Questions for every question there were radio buttons 
and not check boxes, so take it as select one of the 4 choices given. 

Example: 

Q : With which of the following words would you relate the word "shimmer"

there (hardly 2-3 questions of such type)

5. Quantitative Aptitude and Logical reasoning : Quantitative was easy, 
practice from RS Agarwal, questions like :

stations. The ratio of their speeds is:

So basically the test was not that difficult, the only thing to be kept in

Technical Interview : 

It basically depends on your luck that which "panel" you get. First of all 
make sure that you know exactly what you write in your resume. 

Some people were asked typical technical questions, some were asked 
puzzles and for some it was more of an HR round.

I got through in the Technical Interview as well and was called for the HR 
round which was very short and sweetand iam lucky to be selected.

I got a mail for interview  which was scheduled on 13th Feb.

with all the documents at 10.30 the procedure started with verification of 
documents. It took long time because 150 candidates have been called for

1st round:


For 1st few candidates they took Hr interview. In this there were 15 
candidates in a group and we all have to speak for two minutes on any non-
technical topic of our choice. Almost 5 got rejected in this round.

2. Personal interview :


It was suppose to be technical round but all the candidates were asked HR 
questions only. 

Interviewer asked me which topic i choose in 1st round ?

Then she asked me why you want to choose LnT over Patni?(As i have job 
offer from Patni also).

I explained and she cleared me here also what i mentioned was fluency in 
communication. 

Given the offer letter with next month joining date. Bond of 2 yrs .

Don't lose your confidence try and try and try.

This is Subrotho Rai here. HCL Technologies. visited our college campus on 
12th Feb 07 and conducted written test based on Aptitude & Technical 
questions.

There were two papers :

Aptitude Consists of 35 questions and Technical consisiting of 20 
questions.

Some of the topics related in  technical are little endian, C, DBMS, 
bankers algorithms, physical & logical addresses, segmentation, etc.

Aptitude paper was easy. 

After clearing the written test they conducted first Technical Interview 
and then HR interview. 

In technical interview they asked my CV and asked me to introduce myself. 

As I'm passionate abt Banks he asked few questions based on railways too. 
Then he asked me  my strong subject. I told C. 

Then he asked me inheritance & its types, virtual classes, dynamic 
allocation, linked list, stacks, unions. 

Then he asked me few questions from DBMS too

Difference between relational & hierarchial database, inner & outer join. 
He asked me to write a query.. Then he asked me a puzzle which I couldn't 
answer but I gave it a try. Then he asked me to write a program for 
creation of link list.


After that I was selected for the HR round. Then in HR round some 
questions were asked about banks as it was my passions. Then some 
questions were based on my one of the hobbies ->  teaching.

She asked me no. of my current students, Subjects taught, Income earned, 
purpose of taking tutions, etc. 

Then she asked whether I know about the 18 months bond or not. About 
relocation -> whether I'm ready or not. After that she asked me that 
what preparations you have done for HCL interview and paper.

I said for written no preparation while for the interview I read 
balagurusamy (C). Then she said ok  perfect. 


Dont lose confidence.  For any question  just give a try, make full use of 
your roughsheet, If you are 90 % sure about any question just attempt it. 
Because eventhough they say negative marking is there but it is not done.

In the interview they have asked about the circuits. so iam 
unable to give the answers. but i have prepared in hardware 
and networking.

Written test:
 
There are 50 Questions in total and these 50 questions cover three 
sections.

SectionA-> English

20 Questions. Refer Barron's Guide. The questions are Vocabulary 
questions. 

SectionB-> Aptitude .

20 Questions. The Questions are easy of  simple Mathematics. Just practice 
some questions on Average, Time& Work, Time & Distance, Percentage, 
Probability and some simillar topics. Refer R.S Agarwal book .


SectionC-> Technical. 

10 Questions.  Mostly "What would be the output of..." types.  You should 
have thorough Knowledge on C/C++ concepts .

Technical Inerview :


They will ask questions only from those subjects  mentioned in  CV. If u r 
not comfortable with anyone Better don't write.

The Interview lasts for 20 to 45 mins and they asked simple questions on 
the subjects that  mentioned in  CV. Also  about any Projects. So prepare 
well with ur project. They also check your confidence level and your 
communication skills.

Hr Interview : 


This is the last stage  they check  Spoken English Quality and Fluency. 
and they also analyse your attitude.

I want to know this so that I can judge if U would be a suitable candidate 
for Wipro?

4. Why do you want to join Wipro?

7. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
8. Had you been in My place. what would have been your decision?
9. Do you have any location preferences?
10. Are youU willing to sign a contract with Wipro Technologies?

I am selected in Satyam. Total No. of student nearly 2000, shortlisted for 
GD 700. shortlisted for interview 298. Finally selected 187.

There are simple questions, R.S.Agarwal is sufficient.

10 questions of simple maths, 4 english language questions, 1 data 
interpretation .

The upper cut of is 11 and lower cut of is 6.

My topic is Impact of China on indian industries.

I couldn't start but i m second to start. 

Start with high intensity of voice so others can clearly hear ur loud 
voice. Try to lead the group. At the same time encourage the others also.
 
Interview:


My interview based on my projects only. I mentioned four projects in my 
resume so he asked to explain each one. 

I confidently explained each one. Then asked me why u join Satyam. Be 
confident in interview and maintain proper eye contact.
