I am bit confused about this question,Network itself one of

| Answer | Hi all,
This is confusing question.Dont be confused because the
quesioner wanna to know ur IQ. Network layer is one of the
layer of OSI Model and its place is 3rd in OSI MOdel.
If question is like this : How many layers in Network? Then
according to me , it's answer is 7. |
| Raju [Green Vision] |
| |
| |
| Answer | This is not a valid question. The Network Layer is a layer
on its own and does not contain any sublayers. The question
should be: How many layers are there in the OSI Reference
Model and what are they? |
| Musa [Green Vision] |
| |
| |
| Answer | Two types of OSI network-layer services are available:
Connectionless Network Service (CLNS) and Connection-
Oriented Network Service (CONS). CLNS uses a datagram data
transfer service and does not require a circuit to be
established before data is transmitted. |
| Mohammed [Green Vision] |

2)Transport
3)Internet
4)Network Access |

UDP(CLNS) this defines UDP is connectionless protocol and
again this is not a layer. |

| Answer | i am only know about subnetting concept is used to connect
more networks from hostaddress using ipaddress and it can
produce more network connection. |
| Radha_9090 |
| |
| |
| Answer | sub-netting means we r going to divide a single network to
many different sub network by borrow host bit as a network
bits in subnet mask. after subnetting the default subnet
mask has been increasing.(but have same prefixes)
basically when we have a single network address and we need
more than one network address for security, network
broadcast Strom, load balance, remote sites etc. reason then
we are going for subnetting. |

protocol. And TCP/IP protocol is connection oriented and
reliable.i want some more advantages and disadvantages and
UDP where its used. |
| Radha_9090 |
| |
| |
| Answer | UDP: It doesn't wait for acknowledgement as like TCP/IP so
it is unreliable protocol.
UDP is usually used in where communication needs to be fast
like in DNS and DHCP. |
| Narendra Naidu [-] |
| |
| |
| Answer | The first thing is UDP is connection less where as TCP is
connection oriented.The broadcasting and multicasting
software is available in the UDP only. Why because it is
connection less hence we can broadcast the packets very
easily,no need to wait for connection like in tcp, which
takes more delay. |

| Answer | there are a few TCP/IP protocols that are usually called
the “core” of the suite, because they are responsible for
its basic operation. Which protocols to include in this
category is a matter of some conjecture, but most people
would definitely include here the main protocols at the
internet and transport layers: the Internet Protocol (IP),
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram
Protocol (UDP). These core protocols support many other
protocols |
