Article VI of the GATT provides for the right of 
contracting parties to apply anti-dumping measures, i.e. 
measures against imports of a product at an export price 
below its “normal value” (usually the price of the product 
in the domestic market of the exporting country) if such 
dumped imports cause injury to a domestic industry in the 
territory of the importing contracting party. More detailed 
rules governing the application of such measures are 
currently provided in an Anti-dumping Agreement concluded 
at the end of the Tokyo Round.

A light-year is a unit of distance. It is the distance that 
light can travel in one year. Light moves at a velocity of 
about 300,000 kilometers (km) each second. So in one year, 
it can travel about 10 trillion km. More p recisely, one 
light-year is equal to 9,500,000,000,000 kilometers.
