I am QC manager (quality control ) ,I think statistics help 
to knew problem and control good product and similar heart 
monitoring

statistics helps to select good quality of product and decresing the defective product

statistics is used for different purposes in production by 
different groups like production, quality, 
planning,inventory control, purchase etc.
Statistics help them know the trend pattern of the 
production volue in workinh shifts , efficiency of a 
machine, process rejections, deviation from the qualty 
standards, forecasting material procurement, forecasting 
production rate , taking qulaity control measures in 
process etc.
