The Closing Stock should be shown at the end of the Fiscal
Year so that to calculate the earning. This means at the end
of the F/Y a journal for closing stock adjustment should be
raised.
CLOSING STOCK SHOWN AT THE END OF THE F/Y MEANS CLOSING
BALANCE OF STOCK AS ON 31ST MARCH OF EVERY F/Y IT,S HELP
FOR FINDING OF OUR GROSS PROFIT AND ALSO INCLUDED IN
CURRENT ASSETS.

financial statement .i.e.trading profit and loss account.
without C.S.we cannot find the exect position of financial
statement i.e.gross profit and gross profit is transfered
to P & L account for Net Profit.
and also without C.S.we cannot find the finalcial ratio
i.e.average stock,and closing stock to turnover ratio and
all that.
Closing stock is generally shown as an adjusting item
outside the trial balance.In this case trial balance
carries the figures of opening balance of stocks and
purchases made during the year.But when adjusted purchases
are shown in the trial balance(Opening stock +purchases -
closing stock) instead of purchases, figures of closing
stock are also displayed on the credit side of the trial
balance.
