HOW TO CALCULATE LAP,BOND AND HOOK LENGTH FOR PREPARING BAR

To calculate the lap length-48*D
For calculating hook & bend -As per Is 2502,The anchorage value of the of bend shall be taken as 4*D of the bar for each 45 Degree bend and for the U type hook its always taken as 16* D.
For the bond length(Development Length)-Ld-It is calculated by the formula. and it includes all the values of the anchorages. Arun Sangwan

hook length is 5*d lap length can been given at the end L/7

Lap length: 45 diameter of the bar (in compression member)
50 diameter of the bar (in tension member)
Bond length: 24 diameter of the bar
Hook length: 12 diameter of the bar Mohammed Aijaz Hussain.
Lap lenght:- for liquid structure- 50d
for another structure-40d
(like column, beam, slab)
For stirrups Hook:- 2x10d
for corner bend :- (-3d) upto 12dia.

Lap length of bar depends on grade of concrete and design
bond. Owing to the Grade of concretes:

M20 47d 37.6d
M25 40.3d 32.25d

For stirrups Hook length, it will be (-)2x10d
Bend, it will be (-3d) upto 12dia.
