depends on type of d motor..i.e. it's construction.
A PMDC motor will not run on AC.
A shunt wound motor will not run on AC. There will b heavy
heating that may cause damage.
A series motor functions as Universal Motor and hence will
run satisfactorily on AC.
luk...of course the performance is gonna b inferior as u may
know the differences b/w universal motor and dc
motor...Eb(back emf) will b less for ac..so less o/p power
in dc motor when we give ac supply to the armature then the motor is not run. because the direct flux produce from the permanent magnets, but from the armature winding the alternating flux is produced.that means the flux is rotated continuously.the the polarity of the armature flux continuously changes... the the aiding of the flux is not possible..with out aiding of the flux no torque will be produce..no torque means no rotations...that means the hunting will be processed........
If I want to use capacitor banks at HT (11 KV) side for
maintaining power factor then which type of capacitor
should I use? Plz give me the specification?? (I am using
1250 Kva transformer (11 KV/433V)).
