1 watt=1000kw
1 ton starting current 10A after running current 6A
POWER=V*I
W=230*5=1150
W =1150
----- =1.150W

To obsorv 3024 kCal Heat in Temp.diff Of 37(Amb)-23
(Required)=14 c It consumped 4 Hp Energy.
Means 4.5Hp=4.5*0.746Kw
=3.357Kw
Then Amp=w/1.732*0.8*415 In 3 Phase
=3357/575.024
=5.8 Amp

COP = cooling capacity / compressor power; COP = 2.5 for
typical Direct Expansion AC units. Substitute the COP
value, 2.5 = Ton cooling/ kWcomp; or kWcomp = Ton
cooling / 2.5. Multiply Ton by 3.517 to convert it into kW
cooling. kWcomp = (3.517 / 2.5) x Ton; kWcomp = 1.4 x
Ton. This kWcomp is approximately equal to the system kW
based on AC units catalogs. MCA = (1.4/0.8 x Ton) / Voltage-
phase or MCA = 1.75 x Ton / Voltage-phase

BASICALLY, 1 TON = 12,000 BTU
1 WATT = 3.412 BTU
THEREFORE: 1 TON = 3,516 WATTS = 4.713Hp

CURRENT (Amp) I = Power (Watts) P /Voltage
(volts) V

I = 3,516Watts/240Volts
I = 14.65Amperes

The ans: a)P=3,516Watts
b)I=14.65Amperes

Answer no 5 appears spot on.

Actually, the terminology of marking airconditioners units as "Tons" is basically incorrect.

I wish we could do away with it and instead have the BTU (british thermal units) to rate the airconditioners in India.

As we know 1TR=3.5172KW then 1.5TR=5.2758KW
and P(KW)=(1.732*415*.8*I)/1000 For three phase
then I=5.2758*1000/1.732*415*.8=9.174A

So. For three phase supply 1.5TR AC will consumes
9.174Amperes

Similarly For single phase I=5.2758*1000/240*.8

One of the feeder in it normally loaded (loaded than other feeder)and this feeder usually trips with double OCR causing the bank transformer to trip. Now if the load of this feeder is put on other transformer then that no problems occurs on that transformer or the load. However normally all the test(IR, PI, short ckt, open ckt,grounding test and other ) has been conducted for this but evertything transformer.....
