1 Ton = ? amperes & power.

How much power 1.5 TON split AC consumes in an hour at 17 
C , 26 C & 28 C (thermostat' temperature).

1 Tr=12000 BTU=3024Kcal
To obsorv 3024 kCal Heat in Temp.diff Of 37(Amb)-23
(Required)=14 c It consumped 4 Hp Energy.
Means 4.5Hp=4.5*0.746Kw
=3.357Kw
Then Amp=w/1.732*0.8*415 In 3 Phase
=3357/575.024
=5.8 Amp

Runing amperes of 1.5 ton split AC = 7 Amperes
Voltage =220
VA = 220 x 7 = 1.54 va
W = VA x Power factor

= 1.54 x .9 = 1386 watts.

Energy Efficiency Ratio for AC:
•EER = cooling capacity / Power consumption (both in Watt)
•EER of 1 TR (about 3,514 W) capacity air conditioner
consuming power 1,500 W = 3,514/1500 = 2.34
•Star Rating System based on EER - 1-Star: 2.5, 2-Star:
2.7, 3-Star: 2.9, 4-Star: 3.1 and 5-Star: 3.3……………………for
Split AC
 1 TR = 1500 W (Power Consumption- Including comp and fan
motor)
 1 TR = Thumb rule says it's 1.2kw to 1.5kw ..........
Depend on EER OR Star Rating
 1 TR = 3514 W (cooling capacity)
Hence approximate full load Current (I) is =
1500W /230V = 6.5 Amp ………for 1 Star Rating AC.

As we know 1TR=3.5172KW then 1.5TR=5.2758KW
and P(KW)=(1.732*415*.8*I)/1000 For three phase
then I=5.2758*1000/1.732*415*.8=9.174A

So. For three phase supply 1.5TR AC will consumes
9.174Amperes

Similarly For single phase I=5.2758*1000/240*.8
