why transformer cannot rotate though the princplebehind 
induction motor is similar to a transformer?

In induction motors,3windings placed 120deg angle between 
them,which cause an rotating field to be produced....But in 
case of transformers,the windings are linear, therefore it 
produces linear mutual flux...
