wel, BO xi r2 follows three tier architechs.

1. Client (DI/Web I Crystal reports)
2. Application tier (Java / .net)
3. Database tier

1)Client tier(Products run on end user's machine )
2)Presentation layer(contains third party web&appli servers)
3)Application layer(provides essential framework to 
processing layer)
4)Processing layer(contains report engines and implements 
business logic)
5)Data tier(contains DB for reporting)

BO 6.5 is a 3 tier architecture with
1. Design domain
2. Security domain
