QTP is functional tool where as LOADRUNNER is performance tool
By using qtp we test the functionality of the application
and by using LoadRunner we test performance (i.e how well
the application is running at the peak level) of the application

For any application(ERP or WEB)test functionality by QTP and
performance by LOADRUNNER

Very simple ansawer is for WEB application always prepare 
Load runner
The only reason behind is functional testing manually we 
can do but performance is not possible to do manually(it is 
high risk)
