The placement procedure includes the following requirements:
From freshers upto 2 years experienced persons...
B.E/M.E/Diploma having aggregate of above 70% through out each semesters
and also in their X and XII....They also check for no backlogs in your 
engineering history..Be careful
It was an Online Test at the company itself in Bangalore...All your 
marksheets including 
degree,X,XII will be verified at the counters and will be allowed inside 
with a company seal..Those showing fake marksheets
will be rejected either at the counter or inside the company...

The first section consist of Aptitude Test(Online) which is divided into 
Analytical and Logical Reasoning + English(Verbal)  
All are multiple choice questions with no negative marking...
It is conducted for about 20+10 minutes...It mainly covers R.S Aggarwal 
NonVerbal
and Verbal Questions..If we have gone through that then it will be easy to 
clear the test with 
in the stipulated time.....Many of them were rejected in the first 
round..On the first day itself there were 
around 2000 people...The instructions mainly helps to remember the time
for answering..Bcoz if test is about to end  in 10 minutes,background will 
change grey
and for last 2 min it will turn yellow...

I cleared the first round and the second round consist of Technical Test
There are options for us to choose C or C++ with networking or C++ with 
data structures
 or Java...You can choose the language u are comfortable with...

I chose C++ with networking  ...Those who attended the other tests can 
also please 
post their experience...It was all 20 questions including 3 programs (with 
options) 
within 30 minutes...It consists of 10 C++ and 10 Networking concepts 
questions
Any how due to my bad luck i was not able to clear that
I think the next rounds will be technical and HR interviews as usual...
Please those coming for attending sony make sure u are well prepared and 
thorough with all concepts,..They will be taking a few from a lot...

I'll continue from where Sivasubramanian has left. Well 
after the technical test, that you can give either in C, 
C++, Java and other languages, they conducted a Group 
Discussion for the remaining candidates. 

Before that...just make sure that you ask them about the 
negative marking while giving the technical test. In our 
time they were a confused lot. Sometimes they were saying 
that there is a -ve marking and sometimes they were denying 
though -ve making was clearly mentioned on the question 
paper. So just be sure of that.

Well our GD topis was "With the prices soaring high should 
the government subsidize commodities". We were 12 and time 
given was 10 min as they said but it continued for about 25 
min. We were not supposed to make a fish market n all that.

So after GD got over and after 30 min of thier own 
discussion they declared the result. Six of us got selected 
including me.
After the GD we were suppose to give a technical interview.
Mostly they asked about your projects and from academics. 
Anyway I found it easy. Many of us were asked to leave 
after that but I was supposed to wait for one more tiring 
round of interview. Luckily that was an HR interview. In HR 
interview the lady asked me about my family and after that 
all those crap questions followed. Finally I was asked to 
leave. I was told that I'll be called later.

I was thinking after all those hectic rounds of written, GD 
& interviews I'll get an offer letter. The irony is am 
still waiting of that.

If any of you have got the offer please do let me know 'coz 
right now all I am thinking is that this whole walk-in 
episode was a big drama and nothing else. No one is 
actually getting selected.

Hi,

Well, I attended the interview too and went through all the 
rounds. I was called on my mobile after a week or so. One 
Mr. Praveen spoke to me and told me that I'm shortlisted 
and that he will let me know the date of the final 
interview. I waited and waited but I didn't receive any 
call from him. After much hassles I caught him over his 
office phone and he said that they have alredy closed the 
position. Big companies like Sony shouldn't be resoting to 
such means.
