Answer / koti
in 3-phase sysytem 4 lines will be there.
3 lines for R, Y, B. 1 line for neutral. So B/W R&B or B&Y
etc is line to line voltage i.e 440V
b/w any one of R or Y or B nad neutral is phase voltage i.e
230V

Voltage across any two line in a multiphase system is line
voltage. where as voltage across a line and a neutral is
phase voltage.

Answer / kiran
phase to phase and line to line voltage are same.
Consider the voltage in R-phase or line=230V
Y-phase or line=230V
B-phase or line=230V
To calulate phase to phase voltage you have a formulae i.e.,
inputvoltage*root3(1.732)i.e.,
230v*1.732=398.36v.
This is called as phase to phase or line to line voltage.

In case of star
Phase current= line current and Iph=Iline
Phase Voltage = Line voltage/1.732
In case of Delta
Phase current = Line current/1.732
Phase voltage = line voltage

In a multiphase electrical system, the voltage appears
between any two phases or line i.e. between R-Y, Y-B, B-R is
called "Line Voltage"
&
The voltage appears between any phase or line and
neutral(R-N, Y-N, B-N) is called "Phase Voltage"

Answer / priya
phase voltage is the potential difference between a phase
line and a neutral line. i-e) R and neutral is 240 V
similarly Y and neutral is 240 V
B and neutral is 240 V
Line Voltage is Between the two phase
R and Y is 415 V
Y and B is 415 V
Is This Answer Correct ? | 29 Yes | 5 No |
Answer / zero cool
line voltage is 415 volt
(i.e. voltage between any 2 phases R&Y, Y&B, B&R.)
line voltage is = root 3 times of phase voltage
415v = 1.732 * V phase
so V phase = 239.6 v
approx = 230 v.
