Re: There are two circles, one circle is inscribed and another circle is circumscribed over a square. What is the ratio of area of inner to outer circle?
Answer
# 1
ANS:1:2

EXPLANATION:

If a circle is circumscribed around a square, the area of
the circle is π / 2 (about 1.57) times the area of the
square.
If a circle is inscribed in the square, the area of the
circle is π / 4 (about 0.79) times the area of the square.

SO,

Ratio of area of inner to outer circle is,

     =(pi/2*a^2)/(pi/4*a^2)
         = 1/2
Ans=1:2

Re: There are two circles, one circle is inscribed and another circle is circumscribed over a square. What is the ratio of area of inner to outer circle?
Answer
# 3
the inner circle will have radius as half the square's side
( say 'a')... so radius be a/2...
the outer circle will have radius as half of diagonal i.e. a
(2)^0.5divided by 2.
so ratio will be = (pi*r1^2)/(pi*r2^2)= (a^2/4)/(a^2/2)=1/2
Therefore Answer= 1/2.
