Load Testing means Testing to check the maximum Load on the 
application with out comparing with the responce time 
disproportionality.

Load testing is done for 3 reasons:

1.Software Reliablity: When the application is loaded with 
statisticall representative load, load testing is done to 
ensure whehter the application behaves as expected.

2. Performance Testing: When the application is loaded 
within a range of min to max load, load testing is to 
ensure whehter the application can sustain without running 
out of resources or having transaction suffer excessive 
delay.

3. Maximum sustainable load: To determine the maximum 
sustainable load the application can handle.

Hi,
 As the name suggesting we put heavy load on to the
applictaion by connecting many users to the application and
check weather it performs well or it fails.

Load testing means to test the system with heavy load to 
find the breaking point ie, to find the maximum load which 
the system can sustained. This is different from stress 
testing.

Load testing : the execution of our app. build under 
customer expected plat form and customer expected load to 
estimate the speed of processing of our app.build
