Hi-pot test used for the measurement of leakage current
thrugh the cable and measure the capacitance beatween the
pahse to earth.

hi-pot done for power cable i.e ht cables...to calculate how much leakage current is flowing from conductor to earth...e.g-if we are test a 6.6k.v ht cable hi.pot testing then we have to provide a dc current of 2n+1's 80% to the conductor.
