  Re: principle of rtd
Answer
# 1
RTD:- resistance temperature detectors
rtd is used to measure temp basicly metal used in rtd
platinum.

Is This Answer Correct ?    3 Yes 8 No

  Re: principle of rtd
Answer
# 2
Working principle:RTDs r having the property of changing
its resistance on change in temperature in the predictable
way.So, to measure this resistance (to indirectly measure
the temp.)small amount of current(mostly 1ma) will be
passed through the circuit.I n this way the temp. will be
measured by RTD.

Is This Answer Correct ?    17 Yes 1 No

  Re: principle of rtd
Answer
# 3
rtd based on the positive temperature coefficient(resistance
increase as increase in temperature), metal used in rtd are
platinum, copper nickel etc

Is This Answer Correct ?    3 Yes 1 No

How can we say that accuracy of measurement increases by using 3 or 4 wire RTD? because for example: If resistance of RTD element is say r ohms and Resistance of the cable from transmitter to RTD is R ohms And if 4 wire RTD is used, ____._____________________ R ohms | |_____._____________________ R ohms / \ / r ohms \ \ | |______.__________________ R Ohms | |_______._________________ R ohms Then the actual resistance measured will be: Total = r + R/2 + R/2 = r +R Ohms Note: r+R instead of r ohms. hence error   2
