Answer
# 1
Transistor:it s a three terminal device which is used in
amplification process whereas diodes can be used in
rectifiers for conversion of ac to dc source.
Diode is a two terminal device, with no amplification taking
inside only act as a switch with low speed while transistor
can be used for high speed switching transients.....

Answer

Diodes are made from one PN junction. They have only two layers, and so have two terminals or leads.

Transistors are made from one PN junction and one more n- or p-type. They have three layers, and so have three terminals or leads.

Diodes operate like switches or one-way valves. Ideally, they allow current to flow in only one direction.

Transistors function can be modeled as valves or gates. The current flow through the middle layer controls the flow through the other two layers.

transistor : transfer the current from low resistance to
high resistance side .

It is combination of npn or pnp type semeconductors .

it is used in amplification.

diode : combination of N type & P type semeconductor .

it needs only the voltage higher then the cut in voltage .

It is used for rectification

Answer
# 5
Diode is used for simple application.....for rectification
of Ac current to DC...
Transistor is a modified form of diode. Transistor has 2
diodes. It is used for amplification, switching and more
industrial application.

Answer
# 6
Transistor is a current controlled device. The third
terminal is given to conrol the flow of current whereas in
the case of diode the flow of electrons or current couldnt
be controlled.
