Answer / dinesh kumar
using a rectifier, conovert the 3 phase into DC and then
invert it to get a single phase
Is this correct?

Simple logic take one phase and neautral to make single
phase,we can use rectifier to conovert the 3 phase into DC
and then
invert it to AC a single phase
but it's long and costing method.

I believe all three answers are correct but I can add one more.
If you don't want to use transformers than connect an appropriate
3 phase motor to a single phase alternator and run the motor the
out put from the generator would be single phase.

take any one phase from the three phases and
for neutral connect all three phases

OK I ACCEPT THAT WE CAN TAKE SINGLE PHASE WHILE CONNECTING ANY ONE OF PHASE AND NEUTRAL.BUT IF IT IS A DELTA SUPPLY MEANS? AND ALSO ONE PROBLEM IF WE ARE TAKING THE SUPPLY FROM ONE PHASE IT WILL GET OVERLOADED (UNBALANCED).

What is the need of earthing transformer for delta side of a transformer. (Think of a line section between a star/delta transformer at a grid substation and delta/star transformer at a village. An earthing transformer is there at the delta side of the star/delta transformer at grid substation). As there are no ground reference there will not be fault current if a one phase is grounded. Further L-L phase will be sensed by the primary side of star/delta transformer as a L-G fault. So why an earthing transformer is required at delta side

How can we measure MVAR of a 3 phase transformer.....???
In alternator generally we give DC voltage to field of alternator but field (excitor)produce Ac & converts into DC by rotating rectifier(RR ) then fed to rotor .my question is why we cannot give dc voltage directly to rotor instead of Excitor & RR ?
watt meter have 4 terminals what there name??? and what theses 4 terminals indicates ?? and why 2 terminals are short circuited??
we have 3 phase 4 wire supply 230/415 V.AC and our distribution is single phase or we have all single phase 220 v,ac operated appliances. and noted the current with help of clamp meter Red to N = 20 Amps. Yellow to N = 45Amps and Blue to N = 30 Amps ( total is 95 Amps ) what will be neutral current on the main .
